The Department of Health Promotion and Wellness is excited to announce the seventh annual Wellness Week. There will be a series of events to promote health and wellbeing from Sept. 12-15. Come and join these signature events and learn about resources in your community to help enhance your wellbeing!

Tuesday, Sept. 13

TWENTY2
When: 3-3:40 p.m.
Where: Student Rec, Cycle Studio

TWENTY² is a rhythm-based cycle class blended with 20 minutes of barre exercises. This class was created to work the entire body while also helping you perfect your form. Spend 20 minutes on the bike, and 20 on the ground. It’s the best of both worlds! Limited to the first 14 participants.

Nutrition for Exercise Performance
When: 6 p.m.
Where: Zoom

Whether it’s TikTok, Instagram, or the internet in general, information about nutrition can be overwhelming and confusing. Join Health Promotion and Wellness registered dietitian Sheena Gregg as she shares tips for pre and post-workout nutrition.

Student Health Fair
When: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Where: UA Student Center Plaza

Please join Health Promotion & Wellness, campus partners, and community partners for the fall Student Health Fair. Students can learn about the various health and wellness services offered on campus and within the Tuscaloosa community. The first 150 students can receive a free t-shirt!

Free HIV Testing
When: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Where: UA Student Center, Room 2200C

Confidential and private testing is provided by the Alabama Department of Public Health.

Thursday, Sept. 15

Thoughtful Thursday – Mindful Eating
When: 12 p.m.
Where: UA Student Center, Room 3107

Is your mind FULL or are you mindful while eating your meals? This lunch and learn program encourages you to bring your own lunch as Health Promotion and Wellness registered dietitian Sheena Gregg teaches you what mindful eating is and isn’t, and walks you through a mindful eating experience with your food.
