The Mental Health Brown Bag Workshop series is back. Join Health Promotion and Wellness virtually this year to discuss topics related to mental health. During this critical time in history, it is so important to take care of each other and our own mental health.
The Mental Health Brown Bag Workshop series is a monthly virtual series that happens on the first Wednesday of the month via Zoom. For more information and to register to receive the Zoom link, RSVP to each event on the MySource Event page. See some of our past topics below.
When those around us are struggling with their mental health, it can be difficult to know what to say or how to help. Join us to discuss how to approach conversations about mental health and ways you can provide support.
Adversity is an essential part of the human experience. Culturally, we are encouraged to avoid failure, loss, grief, or distress. We want our lives to be seamless and without challenge. Through the process of struggling, we acquire knowledge and skills that allow us to function at higher levels. In this discussion, we will gain an understanding of our strengths, as well as those areas of life which need improvement, leading to personal growth. By managing personal adversity, we develop tools and techniques to manage future challenges effectively.
In this workshop, we will explore the start of and prevalence of diet culture, the difference between disordered eating and an eating disorder, and knowing the common risk factors for developing an eating disorder.
