There will be a series of events to promote health and well-being centered around the Alabama Model from Sept. 9-13. The Intuitive Eating Tuesdays series is a virtual lunch and learn program focused on helping students develop healthier relationships with food through the lens of intuitive eating. Do you eat when you’re hungry? Do you have forbidden foods that you don’t allow yourself to have even though you want them? This session takes a deeper dive into the concept of discovering and honoring hunger signals as well as challenging mental food rules that prevent us from eating a variety of foods for both nourishment and enjoyment. There are three steps anyone can learn to help prevent suicide. Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) is a free, one-hour suicide prevention training. Registration is required. Join us for Mindfulness Minute on Friday, Sept. 13 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Student Center room 3104 . Mindfulness minute is a drop-in session focusing on mindfulness. In this session, students will have the opportunity to learn how to use a labyrinth for walking meditation, how to meditate for stress relief and how to show gratitude through journaling or sharing appreciation with others. This is a drop-in session, so come at your leisure.
